TEHRAN, Jun 16 (Alliance News): As Israeli strikes on Iran intensify, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reportedly been relocated to a fortified underground shelter in Tehran, along with his family, Arab media reported Sunday.
His influential son, Mojtaba Khamenei, is also believed to be with him at the undisclosed location, sources said.
In a powerful show of defiance and faith, a video circulating on social media shows Iranian military officers in a drone launch control room reciting verses from the Holy Quran and praying for victory as they launch drones toward Israeli targets.
The footage, widely shared by Iranian media, depicts a deeply emotional and spiritual atmosphere, highlighting the resolve and morale of Iranian forces amid rising regional tensions.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reaffirmed his hardline stance against Tehran. In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu declared, “We do what we have to do and will continue to do so in the future.”
He accused Iran of posing a grave threat through its nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities and said Israel had shared its intelligence with the United States accordingly.
In a rare admission, Netanyahu confirmed that Israel was behind the assassination of Iran’s chief nuclear scientist and had targeted top Iranian military leaders. He emphasized that Israel was acting in self-defense and would not hesitate to strike preemptively to protect its citizens.
“The role of the United States is clear,” Netanyahu said, indicating that Washington was fully briefed and aligned with Israel’s strategic decisions.
“They know what to do,” he added, in a veiled reference to growing coordination between the two allies.
The situation remains fluid as fears mount over the potential for a full-scale regional war, with escalating rhetoric, drone warfare, and covert operations pushing the region closer to the brink.
