Tehran, Jun 24 (Alliance News): An Iranian military spokesperson has warned that any attack on Iran will be met with a full-scale response, asserting that no aggression will go unanswered.
The warning came amid heightened regional tensions following Iran’s recent missile strike on the U.S. military base Al-Udeid in Doha, Qatar.
In a carefully worded message to the Qatari government, Iran clarified that the strike was specifically targeted at American military assets and not directed at the State of Qatar.
The Iranian Supreme National Security Council reaffirmed that Qatar remains a “friendly and brotherly country,” emphasizing that the attack was a legitimate response to U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
“Our message is clear: no act of aggression against Iran will be left without retaliation,” said the Iranian military spokesperson. “The strike on Al-Udeid was aimed solely at U.S. forces and should not be viewed as an attack on Qatar.”
This statement followed strong condemnation from the Qatari government, which called Iran’s missile barrage a “blatant act of aggression” and declared its right to respond fully. Doha temporarily closed its airspace and issued shelter-in-place warnings to residents following the attack.
Iran, however, downplayed the potential for further escalation with Qatar. “Our missiles were calibrated to avoid Qatari civilian areas and infrastructure. The sole objective was the U.S. military presence in the region,” the Iranian spokesperson added.
The incident marks a significant escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Iran, the United States, and its regional allies.
However, both Iran and Qatar appear to be navigating the fallout carefully to avoid a direct bilateral conflict, focusing their rhetoric on the presence and actions of U.S. forces in the Gulf.
