WASHINGTON, April 10 (Alliance News): US President Donald Trump has expressed optimism that a peace agreement with Iran may be within reach, saying that negotiations are progressing in a positive direction and could help reduce tensions in the region.
In an interview with US media, President Trump said ongoing diplomatic talks in Islamabad are moving forward constructively and may soon produce results.
He added that a successful agreement could lead to a decline in regional tensions, including a possible reduction in attacks by Israel.
Trump noted that the Iranian leadership is showing a “reasonable” approach during the discussions. However, he cautioned that failure to reach an agreement could result in serious consequences for the region.
The US president also revealed that in a recent telephone conversation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had agreed to scale down attacks on Lebanon.
He emphasized that both sides are demonstrating commitment to the dialogue process, raising hopes that a peace deal could be finalized if current progress continues.
