DHAKA, Feb 22 (Alliance News) – The Bangladesh has convened the first session of its newly elected 13th National Assembly, marking the completion of the transitional phase following recent parliamentary elections. Salahuddin Ahmed, the Home Minister, announced on Sunday that the inaugural session is scheduled for March 12.
Speaking to the media at the Secretariat, Salahuddin Ahmed said the government will chair the session with the approval of the President of Bangladesh.
The key agenda items include the election of the Tariq Rahman as the new Speaker and the appointment of the Deputy Speaker, alongside approval of ordinances issued during the interim government’s tenure.
The Home Minister also noted that several administrative and security-related changes would be implemented to strengthen law enforcement agencies across the country.
This announcement follows the successful conclusion of Bangladesh’s parliamentary elections and the formation of a new government, signifying a stable transition and the beginning of legislative activities for the 13th National Assembly.
