China Urges Dialogue Over Force Amid Escalating Israel-Iran Conflict

BEIJING, Jun 17 (Alliance News): Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiankang has reiterated China’s stance on the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, emphasizing dialogue over military action as the only path to sustainable peace.

Speaking at a daily press conference on Tuesday, Guo said China has been in constant communication with both Iran and Israel, as well as with other regional and international stakeholders, in an effort to push for a ceasefire and halt the hostilities.

“Since the beginning of the conflict, China has maintained active engagement with all parties to promote de-escalation,” Guo stated, noting that several international organizations have also released statements urging restraint.

He stressed that “lasting peace cannot be achieved through force,” and emphasized the importance of resolving international disputes through dialogue and consultation.

Guo said that China remains committed to facilitating peace talks and ensuring that the legitimate security concerns of all parties are addressed under the principle of common security.

“Only by upholding the concept of common security can we truly resolve the root causes of conflict and prevent further chaos in the region,” he added.
