Erdogan Condemns KP Terror Attack, Reaffirms Support for Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, June 30 (Alliance News): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers and reaffirming Turkey’s solidarity with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.

According to Turkish media, President Erdoğan conveyed his condolences to the government and people of Pakistan, saying, “Turkey stands firmly with its brotherly nation, Pakistan, in the war against terrorism.”

He termed the attack a cowardly act of violence aimed at destabilising peace in the region.

Background of the Attack

The tragic incident occurred on Saturday when Indian-sponsored terrorists launched a deadly attack on a convoy of Pakistani security forces in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the assailants attempted a suicide bombing on the convoy using explosives.

Thirteen Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom during the attack, while security forces retaliated effectively, killing 14 terrorists in the ensuing gunbattle.

The ISPR stated that the attackers had used sophisticated weapons and a suicide bomber to target the convoy in a well-planned ambush. The swift and brave response of the Pakistani troops prevented further casualties and damage.

Security operations in the region have since been intensified, with search operations continuing to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements.

The attack is seen as part of a broader pattern of cross-border terrorism allegedly supported by hostile intelligence agencies, particularly from India.

The government of Pakistan has vowed to bring the perpetrators and their facilitators to justice, reaffirming that the sacrifices of its armed forces will not go in vain.
