TEHRAN, May 2 (Alliance News): Iran has called for a permanent end to ongoing hostilities, urging that the war be conclusively resolved on all fronts while demanding firm guarantees against any future attacks.
According to official sources, the Iranian leadership has insisted that any path forward must include assurances that military action will not resume. The leadership also expressed deep distrust toward the United States, citing previous attacks that have undermined confidence and strained diplomatic efforts.
Iranian officials stated that the country had been targeted twice, significantly impacting the atmosphere of trust required for meaningful negotiations. As a result, Tehran has made it clear that confidence-building measures are essential before any long-term settlement can be achieved.
Sources further indicated that progress in talks is conditional on the lifting of the naval blockade, which Iran views as a major obstacle to de-escalation. The leadership has linked any advancement in negotiations to tangible steps, including easing economic and military pressures.
Additionally, Iran signalled its willingness to move forward with dialogue if sanctions-related issues are addressed. Officials suggested that resolving these concerns could open the door to renewed diplomatic engagement and a broader settlement framework.
The development comes amid ongoing regional tensions, with international stakeholders closely monitoring efforts to stabilise the situation and prevent further escalation.
