Iran Vows Defiance Amid Rising Tensions with EU and US

TEHRAN (Alliance News), Feb 22: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that Iran will never bow to pressure from world powers, reaffirming Tehran’s determination to resist external demands despite mounting economic and political challenges.

In a speech broadcast on Iranian state television, President Pezeshkian said that global powers were attempting to force Iran into submission but stressed that the nation would remain steadfast.

“Despite all hardships and problems, we will not give up in the face of any test. We will face difficulties and final victory is our destiny,” he stated.

The remarks come at a time of escalating tensions between Iran and Western countries. Tehran has announced it is designating the land, sea and air forces of the European Union as terrorist entities, in retaliation for the EU’s move to label Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran is preparing a counter-proposal following recent nuclear talks with the United States, signalling a continued diplomatic channel despite the heightened rhetoric.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has indicated that Washington is considering limited military strikes, further raising concerns about a potential escalation in the region. British media reports have also suggested that possible US targets could include key Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure.

The developments underline a growing confrontation that could have serious implications for regional stability, global energy markets and ongoing diplomatic efforts to revive nuclear agreements.

Iran has maintained that it will defend its sovereignty while remaining open to negotiations that respect its national interests.
