Kazakhstan, UAE Strengthen Judicial Cooperation Amid Legal Reforms

ASTANA, July 17 (Alliance News): Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Rauan Zhumabek, held a meeting with Mohammed Hamad Al-Badi, Chairman of the UAE Supreme Court, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in the judicial sphere, according to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

Ambassador Zhumabek highlighted Kazakhstan’s ongoing judicial reforms aimed at modernizing the legal system, with recent amendments to legislation intended to expand citizens’ and businesses’ institutional capacity to safeguard their rights and legal interests.

In response, Al-Badi welcomed the reforms and expressed a strong interest in deepening judicial cooperation between the two countries. Both sides exchanged views on key legal issues, including judicial protection of citizen rights, promoting the rule of law, and boosting public trust in the courts.

During the meeting, Zhumabek also delivered an official invitation to Al-Badi on behalf of Elvira Azimova, Chairperson of Kazakhstan’s Constitutional Court, to attend the upcoming legal forum titled “Peace and Future through Law.” The event, commemorating the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Constitution, is scheduled for September 12.

The meeting follows broader efforts by Kazakhstan to digitize its judicial system, as directed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov recently leading discussions on this initiative.
