US Urges Pakistan, India to Avoid Escalation, Seek Responsible Resolution

WASHINGTON, Apr 30 (Alliance News): The United States has called on both Pakistan and India to avoid escalating tensions and to pursue a peaceful resolution in the wake of the recent incident in occupied Kashmir.

Speaking at a press briefing, US State Department spokesperson Timmy Bruce said the situation is being closely monitored by the international community, and the US is in regular contact with both sides.

“We are watching the developments in occupied Kashmir very carefully. The world is watching the situation between Pakistan and India,” she stated.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that the two nuclear-armed neighbors must refrain from any actions that could further destabilize the region.

“We urge both sides not to escalate the situation and will be contacting their authorities soon,” he said.

The US reiterated its earlier appeal made just a day ago, urging both nations to reduce tensions.

The State Department spokesperson added that Washington continues to maintain diplomatic engagement with Islamabad and New Delhi, stressing the need for a “responsible and peaceful solution” to the Pahalgam incident.
