Samuel L. Jackson Credits Bruce Willis for Career-Defining Advice

LOS ANGELES, March 20 (Alliance News): Hollywood veteran Samuel L. Jackson has revealed that a piece of advice from Bruce Willis helped shape his career, particularly his long-running role as Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In a Vanity Fair article celebrating Willis’s 70th birthday, Jackson recalled a conversation from their time filming Die Hard With A Vengeance in 1995. Willis advised him to find a recurring character that audiences love, saying, “Arnold’s got Terminator. Sylvester’s got Rocky, Rambo. I’ve got John McClane.”

Jackson later realized he had followed that advice when he landed the role of Nick Fury in 2008’s Iron Man, signing a nine-picture deal with Marvel. Reflecting on this, the 76-year-old actor said, “Oh, I’m doing what Bruce said. I’ve got this character now.”

Jackson and Willis have shared the screen in several films, including Pulp Fiction (1994), Die Hard With A Vengeance (1995), Unbreakable (2000), and Glass (2019).
