US Credits Its Role for Ceasefire Progress Between Pakistan and India, Sees New Hope for Peace

WASHINGTON, May 24 (Alliance News): The US State Department has credited American involvement for the ongoing reduction in tensions and the current ceasefire between Pakistan and India, describing it as a new opportunity to resolve the long-standing disputes between the two neighboring countries.

In a press briefing, spokesperson Tammy Bruce highlighted that while past efforts failed to settle these conflicts, there is now a “golden opportunity” for both nations to pursue lasting peace. Bruce noted positively that both Pakistan and India remain serious and committed to maintaining the ceasefire.

This comes after Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar recently admitted that progress in easing tensions has been slow.

The US encourages continued dialogue and hopes the improved atmosphere will lead to meaningful solutions to the disputes that have long divided the region.
