BEIJING, Sep 3 (Alliance News): Russian President Vladimir Putin joined Chinese and international leaders at a formal reception in the Grand Banquet Hall of the Great Hall of the People on Tuesday, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance.
Putin arrived at the event immediately after the conclusion of the grand military parade held at Tiananmen Square.
The Russian delegation included senior officials such as Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Presidential Administration Deputy Chief of Staff Maxim Oreshkin, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov, Defense Minister Andrey Belousov, and Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Director Dmitry Shugayev.
The event highlighted the deep historical ties between China and Russia, as both nations emphasized the significance of their shared sacrifices during World War II and reaffirmed their strategic partnership in the present global context.
