CAIRO, Feb 14 (Alliance News): Egypt and Jordan have reaffirmed their commitment to rebuilding Gaza without displacing Palestinians, according to the Egyptian presidential office.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah discussed the matter in a phone call, emphasizing the need for reconstruction efforts that ensure Palestinian residents remain in their homeland.
The Egyptian presidential office further stated that both leaders expressed a willingness to cooperate with former US President Donald Trump on peace efforts in the Middle East.
However, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia have rejected Trump’s reported plan for the displacement of Palestinians.
Following a recent meeting with Trump, King Abdullah reiterated his firm stance against any forced relocation of Palestinians from Gaza and underscored the importance of a two-state solution as the foundation for lasting peace in the region.
