TEHRAN, July 31 (Alliance News): Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed on Friday that it launched multiple ballistic missiles at the Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan in response to an alleged US strike on Qeshm Island, saying the attack damaged three US F-35 fighter jets.
In a statement, the IRGC claimed the missile strike caused severe damage to the aircraft and killed several US military officers and personnel stationed at the base.
The claims could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate confirmation or response from US or Jordanian authorities.
The IRGC said its operations would continue until all American forces withdrew from the region, adding that Iran would hold what it described as the “aggressor” accountable for its actions.
The statement further warned that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed as long as the United States continued what Iran described as threats and interference with maritime navigation in the region.
The latest claims come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with both sides exchanging accusations following recent military confrontations in the Gulf region.
