KYIV, March 4 (Alliance News): Ukraine’s parliament has emphasized that the country’s security depends heavily on US support, praising former President Donald Trump’s role in peace efforts to end the three-year-long war with Russia.
In a statement issued in English, Ukrainian lawmakers highlighted Washington’s support as “more crucial than ever” and expressed hope that Trump’s peacekeeping efforts would play a decisive role in achieving stability in Ukraine and Europe.
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy underscored the need for urgent diplomacy following his tense White House meeting with Trump. He reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to working with the US and European allies for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Zelenskiy also stressed the necessity of real security guarantees, arguing that their absence had contributed to Russia’s 2022 invasion and previous separatist uprisings in eastern Ukraine. He called for unity between Ukraine, the US, and Europe to accelerate diplomatic efforts and ensure long-term stability.
