US Rules Out Intervention in Possible Pakistan-India War

WASHINGTON, May 9 (Alliance News): The United States has decided not to intervene in a potential armed conflict between Pakistan and India, stating it will avoid involvement in any war that does not directly serve its national interest.

US Vice President JD Vance, in an interview on Thursday, said, “The United States will not intervene in a war that does not directly benefit it.” He clarified that Washington’s stance on the Pakistan-India conflict is firm and that it encourages both nations to exercise restraint.

“India initiated the attack, and Pakistan responded — now both sides must think rationally,” Vance urged, adding that while the US is concerned about escalating tensions, the priority must be to prevent the situation from spiraling into a nuclear conflict. “If this turns into a nuclear war, the consequences will be severe.”

While he acknowledged the gravity of the situation, Vance emphasized that there is no immediate indication of a nuclear escalation.

It is worth mentioning that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio contacted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday to discuss the developing crisis.

Rubio assured that the US is closely monitoring events in South Asia and remains in contact with key stakeholders.
