Xi, Putin Vow to Deepen Strategic Partnership

MOSCOW, May 9 (Alliance News): Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed their strategic partnership during a joint press conference at the Kremlin following bilateral talks on Thursday.

President Xi described the meeting as “in-depth, friendly, and fruitful,” noting that multiple important new agreements had been reached.

“This marks my 11th visit to Russia, the country I have visited the most as President of China,” Xi stated, reflecting on the decade-long evolution of Sino-Russian ties.

He highlighted that the past ten years have seen both global upheaval and significant advancement in China-Russia relations. “We have witnessed a deepening of political trust and flourishing cooperation in all fields,” Xi added.

President Xi stressed the importance of further strengthening political trust and strategic coordination, aiming to guide bilateral relations toward a more stable and mature future. He called for enhanced practical cooperation across various sectors to solidify the foundation of their comprehensive strategic partnership.

“China and Russia must remain committed to mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, become each other’s partners in development, and serve as defenders of international order based on justice and law,” he said.

Xi also underscored the need for unity in global governance. He urged both nations to intensify collaboration on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, BRICS, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

“We should jointly promote inclusive globalization and a multipolar world guided by fairness,” he concluded.
