Ukraine Alleges China Aided Russian Military; Beijing Denies Supplying Lethal Aid

BEIJING, May 27 (Alliance News): Ukraine’s foreign intelligence chief has claimed that China supplied key defense-related products — including special chemical materials, ammunition, and components — to 20 Russian military factories.

The allegation raises fresh concerns over Beijing’s role amid the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict.

In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning, addressing a press briefing on Thursday, strongly denied the claims. She reaffirmed China’s consistent stance on the conflict, stating, “China has always promoted ceasefire and peace talks and has not supplied lethal weapons to any party involved.”

Mao emphasized that China strictly regulates exports of dual-use military and civilian items and accused Kyiv of making unfounded accusations. “Ukraine should be very clear about this. China firmly opposes groundless accusations and political manipulation,” she said.

The exchange comes at a time of heightened international scrutiny over countries perceived to be indirectly supporting military activities in the Russia-Ukraine war.

China has repeatedly positioned itself as a neutral party seeking diplomatic resolution, though Western officials have occasionally raised concerns over Chinese exports with potential military applications.
