China Urges US to Stop Cyber Surveillance After Report on Global Mobile Espionage

BEIJING, March 26 (Alliance News): China has expressed serious concerns over a report exposing US intelligence agencies’ global surveillance and cyber theft activities, urging Washington to halt its abuse of the global supply chain, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiaxin.

Addressing a daily press conference, Guo Jiaxin said China had taken note of the report titled “Surveillance and Theft Activities of US Intelligence Agencies on Global Mobile Smart Terminals”, released by the China Cybersecurity Industry Alliance.

The report alleges that the US government has exploited its monopoly in IT and upstream supply chains to conduct large-scale, long-term cyber intrusions in mobile phones and the global mobile ecosystem.

The findings describe the US as the world’s leading cyber-offender, engaging in supply chain-based cyber attacks and unauthorized surveillance via mobile network operators.

China has urged the US to cease these activities, emphasizing the need to protect global cybersecurity and prevent the misuse of technological dominance.
