France May Recognize Palestine as a State by June: Macron

PARIS, April 11 (Alliance News): French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France may officially recognize Palestine as a state by June, marking a significant diplomatic move in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Speaking to international media, President Macron said the aim is to finalize the recognition at an upcoming United Nations conference focused on the Middle East crisis. “We must move toward the recognition of the Palestinian state, and we will do so in the coming months,” he stated.

Macron emphasized that the decision is not driven by political pressure, but by principle. “I am not doing this to please anyone — it is the right thing to do,” he said.

Palestinian officials have welcomed Macron’s remarks, stating that his stance aligns with upholding the rights of the Palestinian people and the international vision for a two-state solution.

France would join a growing number of countries pushing for formal recognition of Palestine as momentum builds globally for a renewed diplomatic approach to resolving the decades-old conflict.
