ISLAMABAD, July 22 (Alliance News): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to visit Pakistan on July 26, signaling a renewed push for stronger bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries, according to Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Baqaei described the upcoming visit as a reflection of the deep historical, cultural, and religious bonds between Iran and Pakistan. He said Tehran greatly values its relationship with Islamabad, especially in the context of recent regional developments.
The Iranian spokesperson noted that diplomatic engagement between the two capitals has intensified following recent hostilities involving Israel and the United States. He referred to the Zionist regime’s attacks on Iranian military, nuclear, and residential targets from June 13, which were followed by U.S. airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities, including Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan on June 22.
In retaliation, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a series of missile strikes under “Operation True Promise III,” targeting Israeli military sites and reportedly inflicting serious damage. Iran also fired missiles at the U.S. al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar. The conflict came to a halt with a ceasefire on June 24.
In a separate development, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni held a phone call with his Pakistani counterpart Mohsin Naqvi, expressing deep sorrow over the recent devastating floods in Pakistan. He conveyed Iran’s solidarity and readiness to extend all possible humanitarian aid.
During their conversation, both ministers also discussed the upcoming visit of President Pezeshkian. Minister Momeni expressed appreciation for Naqvi’s recent visit to Iran, while Minister Naqvi said Pakistan is looking forward to welcoming the Iranian leader.
The visit is expected to include high-level meetings focusing on regional security, economic cooperation, and humanitarian collaboration.
