CARACAS, Jun 21 (Alliance News): Thousands of protesters took to the streets in Venezuela’s capital to voice strong support for Iran and Palestine amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.
Demonstrators carried Iranian and Palestinian flags and chanted slogans denouncing Israeli aggression and calling for an immediate end to the war.
According to international media reports, the protestors labelled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal and condemned Israel’s military actions as violations of international law.
The marchers demanded a ceasefire and urged the global community to intervene diplomatically rather than militarily.
Meanwhile, Russia has warned that American military involvement in the Iran-Israel conflict would drastically escalate tensions in the Middle East.
A Russian government spokesperson criticized the Israeli strikes on Iran, calling them a blatant breach of the United Nations Charter and international law.
Both Russia and China have reiterated their positions that a peaceful, political resolution is the only viable path forward for resolving the Iran-Israel conflict and addressing concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme.
