UAE to introduce Artificial Intelligence as a subject in all government schools

DUBAI, May 5 (Alliance News): In a landmark decision, UAE Vice President and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced on Sunday that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be introduced as a subject in all government schools from the next academic year.

The initiative is part of the UAE’s long-term plan to equip future generations with the necessary skills to thrive in an AI-driven world.

The curriculum will span all educational stages, from kindergarten to grade 12, and will focus on both the technical and ethical aspects of AI.

Students will learn about data, algorithms, applications, risks, and the impact of AI on daily life.

The UAE government aims to ensure that students understand how AI will shape future societies and prepare them for upcoming challenges in the global workforce.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Education’s efforts in developing this curriculum, stressing the importance of preparing children with the right skills to keep pace with technological advancements.

He emphasized that this initiative is a national responsibility to ensure the UAE’s continued progress and success.
