SEOUL, july 6 (Alliance News): Chairman of the Pakistan Business Association Korea (PBAK), Mudassar Ali Cheema, has been awarded Pakistan’s prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the overseas Pakistani community and his efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s image abroad.
The investiture ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Seoul, where the national civil award was conferred by Pakistan’s Ambassador to South Korea, Syed Moazzam Hussain Shah. The event was attended by diplomats, members of Korean civil society, business leaders, and prominent representatives of the Pakistani community.
The ceremony began with opening remarks by Head of Chancery Rabel Kundi, who read a special message from the President of Pakistan acknowledging Cheema’s outstanding services to overseas Pakistanis, his contributions to promoting Pakistan’s positive image, his achievements in the business sector, and his dedication to community welfare.
Presenting the award, Ambassador Syed Moazzam Hussain Shah praised Mudassar Ali Cheema for his commitment, integrity, and tireless efforts in representing Pakistan and serving the overseas community.
“This national honour reflects not only Mr. Cheema’s personal achievements but also the invaluable contributions of overseas Pakistanis towards the country’s progress and global reputation,” the ambassador said.
Former South Korean Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Song Jong-hwan, who also addressed the ceremony, commended Cheema’s role in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and South Korea. He said Cheema had worked tirelessly to promote cooperation, guide the Pakistani community in Korea, and foster stronger people-to-people and business ties between the two countries.
In his acceptance speech, Mudassar Ali Cheema expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan, the Pakistani Embassy in Seoul, and the overseas Pakistani community for their continued trust and support.
“This honour is not mine alone; it belongs to the entire Pakistani community whose collective efforts have made this achievement possible,” he said, pledging to continue promoting Pakistan’s positive image, community welfare, and Pakistan-Korea relations.
Cheema’s recognition has been widely welcomed by overseas Pakistanis and business leaders, who described the award as a proud moment for the Pakistani diaspora, particularly the community in South Korea.
