China, Russia, Iran Hold Talks on Tehran’s Nuclear Programme

BEIJING, March 14 (Alliance News): Senior diplomats from China, Russia, and Iran met in Beijing on Friday to discuss Tehran’s nuclear programme, according to Chinese state media.

China’s Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi participated in the discussions.

While details were not disclosed, Beijing stated that the talks aimed to enhance coordination and revive dialogue on the nuclear issue.

The meeting follows years of stalled efforts to restore the 2015 nuclear agreement, which saw Iran limit its nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief.

The deal unraveled after the United States withdrew under former President Donald Trump, prompting Tehran to gradually scale back its commitments.

China has reiterated its support for diplomatic efforts to restore negotiations and de-escalate tensions over Iran’s nuclear activities.
