WASHINGTON, March 26 (Alliance News): Russia and Ukraine have agreed to ensure safe shipping in the Black Sea and refrain from attacking each other’s energy facilities, following separate agreements mediated by the United States during the Riyadh talks, according to the White House.
The US also pledged to help restore Russia’s access to global markets for agricultural and fertilizer exports as part of the negotiations.
The White House affirmed that the US will continue facilitating discussions to achieve lasting peace between the two nations.
US President Donald Trump confirmed the agreement, stating that significant progress had been made on the Ukraine conflict as well as issues concerning the Middle East.
Meanwhile, he dismissed concerns over the recent leak of a classified Yemen war plan, asserting that no sensitive information was disclosed and that the matter was not under FBI investigation.
The developments come after Trump’s two-hour phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which a 30-day temporary and limited ceasefire was agreed upon between Russia and Ukraine.
