TEHRAN, July 21 (Alliance News): Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga, in a phone call with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to international law and stressed that the Islamic Republic has nothing to fear from nuclear inspections.
However, he firmly stated that Iran will not accept any effort to strip the nation of its legitimate rights through coercion or threats.
“Iran has never sought war but has consistently contributed to regional peace and stability,” Peshmerga said, emphasizing the country’s peaceful stance amid rising tensions with the United States.
In contrast, former US President Donald Trump posted on his social media platform “Real Social” claiming that three of Iran’s nuclear facilities were “completely destroyed” in last month’s US military strikes. He provocatively suggested Iran should construct new facilities instead of repairing the damaged ones.
However, a report by US broadcaster NBC on July 17 cited sources familiar with the matter, revealing that only one of the targeted nuclear facilities sustained “severe damage.” The remaining two facilities reportedly suffered minor damage that could be repaired if Iran chooses to do so.
The conflicting narratives reflect heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington as the issue of Iran’s nuclear program continues to draw global scrutiny.
