MINSK, Aug 11 (Alliance News): Belarus has unveiled a long-term modernization strategy for its construction industry, prioritising quality over quantity through industrialisation, digitalisation and technological upgrades, the Architecture and Construction Ministry said.
The ministry told BelTA that the plan will overhaul all processes — from construction practices and territorial planning to regulatory frameworks, innovation adoption and workforce training. The strategy emphasises reducing manual labour in favour of prefabricated structures, robotics and small-scale mechanisation.
By relocating most “wet processes” to production facilities and increasing the use of prefabrication, the ministry aims to cut manual labour intensity at construction sites by 10–25%, while boosting overall productivity.
Modernisation efforts will include upgrading housing construction plants and large-panel building organisations, and relocating Belarusian Glass Company to Minsk.
Industry digitalisation is also a priority, with plans to automate and speed up document workflows while significantly reducing their volume.
