OSLO, July 6 (Alliance News): Norway’s Royal Palace has shared heartwarming photographs marking the return of Crown Princess Mette-Marit following her recent lung transplant surgery, as the royal family celebrated the country’s historic FIFA World Cup victory over Brazil.
The images, published on the Norwegian royal family’s official social media accounts, showed Crown Princess Mette-Marit alongside Crown Prince Haakon watching the match from the Royal Palace. Another photograph captured the couple looking out over the palace grounds as Norwegians celebrated the landmark win.
The palace said the entire royal family followed the match from different locations, with King Harald V and Queen Sonja watching from Mågerø, while Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus attended the match in the United States to support Norway.
In a statement accompanying the photographs, the palace described the occasion as “a historic evening,” highlighting the family’s shared excitement over Norway’s achievement.
The release of the images also marked Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s first public appearance since undergoing lung transplant surgery, with royal supporters expressing relief and sending well wishes for her continued recovery.
