Tehran, Aug. 9 (Alliance News): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Saturday that the United States had been compelled to pursue negotiations and reconciliation with Tehran, describing the development as a major success of Iran’s diplomacy and an opportunity to reach a lasting agreement.
Addressing a press conference in Tehran, President Pezeshkian said Washington was obligated to implement the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and the jointly prepared framework developed by Iran and Oman.
However, he alleged that the United States failed to honor its commitments, leaving Iran with no option but to respond.
He said managing the current situation required a dedicated team and confirmed that Iran’s negotiating and crisis management team was continuing its work to address the challenges.
The Iranian president expressed optimism that the country would move forward while safeguarding its dignity, determination and national pride, adding that Tehran remained committed to protecting its interests throughout the diplomatic process.
