BEIJING, Jun 24 (Alliance News): China, Pakistan, and Bangladesh held a trilateral meeting of vice foreign ministers and foreign secretaries in Kunming, Yunnan Province, to enhance regional collaboration and economic integration, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiaxin confirmed on Monday.
During the press briefing, the spokesperson highlighted that the three countries reached consensus on four key areas.
First, they reaffirmed commitment to principles of good neighborliness, equality, mutual trust, openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation aimed at promoting economic growth and improving the livelihoods of their citizens.
Second, the nations agreed to a broad framework of cooperation covering 12 sectors: industry, trade, maritime affairs, water resources, climate change, agriculture, human resource development, think tanks, health, education, culture, and youth engagement.
Third, to ensure timely execution of decisions taken during the meeting, the three sides resolved to establish a working group at the director-general level for follow-up coordination and implementation of projects.
Fourth, the trilateral cooperation initiative was described as a reflection of genuine multilateralism and open regionalism, with a core focus on promoting shared development and the well-being of people across South Asia.
The Kunming meeting marks a significant step in trilateral engagement among the three countries, emphasizing connectivity, sustainable development, and regional stability.
