Kazakh, Chinese Foreign Ministers Discuss Strategic Ties on SCO Sidelines

ASTANA, July 17 (Alliance News): On the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers’ meeting in China, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to strengthen bilateral ties across various sectors.

According to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, the two ministers engaged in comprehensive discussions on political, trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

They highlighted the growing momentum in Kazakh-Chinese relations, emphasizing the need to implement high-level agreements reached during recent leadership meetings in Astana.

Minister Nurtleu noted that the talks between the two heads of state had set forth ambitious goals, and both sides must now focus on effective implementation.

Discussions also covered investment, energy, transit and transport cooperation, and further trade expansion.

Both sides also reviewed regional and global developments and reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination through multilateral platforms such as the UN, SCO, CICA, and the Central Asia–China format.
