Strikes Damage Health, Education Infrastructure Across Iran: Red Crescent

TEHRAN, April 06 (Alliance News): Iranian Red Crescent officials have reported extensive damage to critical infrastructure following recent US and Israeli strikes across the country, affecting educational, medical, and humanitarian facilities.

According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, a total of 22,810 commercial centers have been impacted so far.

The damage also includes 322 medical and health facilities, 763 schools, 18 scientific and university institutions, and 20 Red Crescent centers.

The statement said emergency response capacity has also been significantly affected, with the loss or damage of three helicopters, 46 ambulances, and 48 relief vehicles, complicating rescue and aid operations.

Officials confirmed casualties among humanitarian and medical workers. At least four Red Crescent aid workers and two pregnant women were killed, while 18 aid workers sustained injuries. In addition, 24 members of medical staff were reported dead and 116 others injured in the attacks.

The strikes have also impacted key installations and locations, including petrochemical facilities in Khuzestan Province, the Shalamcha border crossing, and scientific laboratories at Shahid Beheshti University.

Urban residential areas have also been affected, raising concerns over civilian safety and humanitarian conditions.

Authorities say the scale of damage poses serious challenges to healthcare delivery, emergency response, and public services, as efforts continue to assess losses and provide relief to affected populations.
