Xi Reaffirms ‘No Limits’ Partnership with Putin Amid Ukraine War

BEIJING, Feb 25(Alliance News): Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed China’s “no limits” partnership with Russia during a phone call with President Vladimir Putin on Monday, marking the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The call underscored the long-term and strategic nature of China-Russia ties, dismissing any influence from external forces.

“China-Russia relations have strong internal driving force and unique strategic value, and are not aimed at, nor are they influenced by, any third party,” Xi stated, according to Chinese state media.

The reaffirmation of ties comes as US President Donald Trump pushes for a swift resolution to the Ukraine war, raising speculation that Washington may attempt to drive a wedge between Xi and Putin. However, the two leaders emphasized their alliance remains unaffected by external pressures.

This marks the second call between Xi and Putin this year, following their January discussions on building ties with Trump.

Beijing has maintained its refusal to condemn Russia’s invasion, despite growing tensions with the US and Europe over its stance.
