India Cancels Turkish Firm Celebi’s Security Clearance over National Security Concerns

NEW DELHI, May 16 (Alliance News): The Indian government has revoked the security clearance of Turkish company Celebi Airport Services India with immediate effect, citing national security concerns, officials confirmed Thursday.

The move follows increasing public and political pressure after Turkey and Azerbaijan openly supported Pakistan during the recent conflict between India and Pakistan.

The Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation said the revocation was based on inputs related to national interest, adding that many citizens had cancelled their travel plans to Turkey and Azerbaijan in protest.

Celebi Aviation Holding, a Turkish-based company offering ground handling services at nine major Indian airports—including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru—has yet to respond to the decision.

Delhi International Airport officials confirmed that they have already begun collaborating with alternative service providers, AISATS and Brid Group, to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Deputy Civil Aviation Minister Muralidhar Mohol acknowledged that multiple appeals were received nationwide demanding a ban on Celebi, though he did not provide specific details about the reasons or intelligence behind the decision.
