TEHRAN, June 12 (Alliance News): Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh has warned the United States and Israel of a powerful retaliation if either country attempts to impose war on Iran, vowing to target all enemy interests, military bases, and installations.
According to Iranian state media, the warning follows recent statements by U.S. Defense Secretary and increased regional tensions.
General Nasirzadeh criticized American leadership for what he called “double standards,” stating that while U.S. officials talk about diplomacy, their actions and rhetoric are fueling instability in the region.
He urged the new U.S. Defense Secretary to review Iran’s four decades of resistance since the Islamic Revolution, stressing that Iran never initiates conflict but is fully prepared to respond decisively to any aggression.
The Iranian defense chief also revealed the successful test of a new ballistic missile capable of hitting targets over 1,200 kilometers away with an accuracy of one meter. Notably, the missile operates independently of external GPS systems, enhancing its strategic reliability.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged that hopes for a renewed nuclear deal with Iran are fading.
A sixth round of nuclear talks is tentatively scheduled to take place in Muscat on Sunday. In preparation for potential escalation, the U.S. has already authorized the withdrawal of non-diplomatic personnel from Bahrain and Iraq.
