Virginia Giuffre Laid to Rest in Private Funeral After Reported Suicide in Australia

PERTH, May 26 (Alliance News): Virginia Giuffre, the woman who publicly accused Britain’s Prince Andrew and the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse, has reportedly been laid to rest following a private funeral in Australia, a month after taking her own life.

According to a report by New Idea, the 41-year-old was cremated in a discreet ceremony held at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park in Perth.

The funeral, attended only by close family and friends, was kept out of public notice, and no obituary or formal announcement was issued.

Giuffre, an advocate for survivors of abuse, was found dead last month at her farm in Western Australia. Her family confirmed the news through a statement carried by foreign media, saying, “It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia. She lost her life to suicide.”

They remembered her as a woman of “incredible courage and loving spirit,” who had stood strong in the face of overwhelming adversity.

Giuffre became internationally known after accusing Prince Andrew of sexually abusing her when she was 17, claims he repeatedly denied. The case was later settled out of court in 2022. She was also one of the most prominent accusers of Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking.

Her attorney, Sigrid McCawley, expressed disbelief over her client’s death. In a recent interview with 60 Minutes, McCawley said, “Virginia is always someone to rally… She could find the sunny side of something. That’s why I think the disbelief has been so strong.”

She added that while Giuffre had faced many demons, “that moment of deprivation… was something more than she could handle.”

Virginia Giuffre is survived by her husband and three children.
