TEHRAN, April 10 (Alliance News): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has warned Israel against violations of the ceasefire, stating that continued attacks are undermining peace efforts and making negotiations meaningless.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, the Iranian president said Israeli strikes on Lebanon were a clear breach of the ceasefire agreement and risk escalating tensions in the region. He described the actions as deceptive and a sign of non-compliance with agreed terms.
Pezeshkian said Iran would continue to support Lebanon and would not step back from its position. “We will not leave our Lebanese brothers and sisters alone,” he said, adding that Iran remains prepared to respond if necessary.
The statement came a day after Israeli forces claimed they had targeted more than 100 مواقع in Lebanon, which they described as hideouts of Hezbollah.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would continue operations against Hezbollah wherever it considers necessary, maintaining a firm stance on security.
Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf also strongly condemned the ceasefire violations, warning that those responsible would face consequences.
He stressed that Lebanon is a key part of the ceasefire framework and called on the international community to take notice of the situation.
The latest exchange of statements highlights growing tensions despite the ceasefire, raising concerns about the future of ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region.
