Asim Munir wraps up Iran visit, pledges peace and cooperation

Tehran, April 18(Alliance New): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, along with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a high-level delegation, has concluded a three-day official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, where both sides held extensive discussions on regional security, bilateral relations, and efforts to promote sustainable peace.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir met with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and held separate meetings with senior Iranian leadership, including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, Major General Ali Abdolhosseini.

The discussions focused on the evolving regional security landscape, ongoing diplomatic initiatives, and coordinated measures to ensure long-term peace and stability in the region. Field Marshal Munir underscored that dialogue, de-escalation, and sustained diplomatic engagement remain essential for resolving all outstanding disputes.

The ISPR stated that the Field Marshal expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Iranian leadership and people, and conveyed warm regards from Pakistan’s civil and military leadership, including the President, Prime Minister, and the public. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its historic and brotherly relations with Iran.

The statement added that the visit reflects Pakistan’s continued resolve to promote dialogue-based solutions to regional conflicts, particularly in the Middle East, and to advance peace, stability, and prosperity through diplomatic engagement.
