China Advances Major Infrastructure Projects as 14th Five-Year Plan Nears Completion

Beijing, June 2 (Alliance News): As the final year of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan unfolds, key infrastructure projects are progressing steadily.

The Shenyang–Changbai Mountain high-speed railway, spanning 430 kilometers and designed for speeds of 350 km/h, has begun joint testing and adjustment. This will cut travel time between the two locations from 3 hours 26 minutes to just 1.5 hours.

In Guangdong Province, the steel framework for the second phase of the Shenzhen Pinghu Non-Integrated Logistics Center—the nation’s largest railway logistics hub—is complete, with internal electrical installations underway.

Once finished, it will become Asia’s largest multi-modal transport hub integrating road, rail, and maritime routes.

Water resource projects also advance, with rapid construction on the Shuanghu Dam in Lin’e City, Shandong Province. With a total storage capacity of 138 million cubic meters, the dam is expected to ease flood risks in the region by its scheduled completion at the end of 2026.
